Homes for the Community (CHC) have completed the two stages of development and residents have moved in.
Goodwin have purchased Stage 3, Block 13, Section 61, which was formally the school oval and treed play space. A Development Application (DA) has been submitted in August 2021 for the development of a four block, four storey, 130 unit independent living and supported living complex.
The opportunity to comment on the DA closed 24 September. The Downer Community Association made a submission which can be view at- goodwin_da_-_dca_submission.pdf
Residents should be aware that one of the conditions imposed on the developer by ACT Planning? ACT Heritage Council is to remove and replace the pine trees around the old school site. This will cause a major visual change. It has begun with two rows of Canary Pines being planted along Bradfield Street.
